Vacation sleep

We have recently started our two weeks vacation in cool northern California. We had initially planned to stay with the younger sister-in-law's condo with her ~2 month old baby. However, when RyanC fell in love with the youngest sister-in-law's two kids' toys, we decided it would cool for us to stay with RyanC and AidanC's cousins.

The first night went well as all four boys (ages 1-3) staying in the same room. AidanC slept first in pack-n-play while the other kids ate snacks. Then the rest of the kids got to bed without any incident - no one cried and AidanC didn't wake up during that time! RyanC slept on this Thomas & Friends little portable bed thing and he was content.

Last night was a nightmare. AidanC has been teething and he cried his head off. That caused RyanC to start crying and wanting to come out. After about half an hour, the oldest 3-yeard old cousin Lucas yelled "Mommy! They are still crying!" We decided to take RyanC and AidanC out of the room so the other two kids can get some sleep. I then spent about an hour trying to calm AidanC down and failed. Well, I finally got him to fall asleep for a minute or two but then he woke up and started wailing. AidanC had never been this out of control as he is usually a great baby to take care of. As he was twisting his little body to escape from me, wife came to the rescue and held the baby and he was suddenly quiet. That was quite annoying as he didn't want mommy in the beginning either. Oh well... at least we all finally got to sleep because RyanC had fallen asleep in the middle of that struggle. The four of us slept on the floor peacefully for the remainder of the night.

In the morning, we found AidanC rolling to the tiles in front of the fire-place. I guess he liked the cool floor more than carpet. RyanC slept while the entire apartment full of people were eating breakfast. That little boy has a tough life with all that swimming, hot-tubbing, eating and playing with Lucas and Ethan.
